Meteora's First Birthday Bash

I've been meaning to write a post on this one but I knew it was gonna be lengthy so I had to find the time and mood to do it or else I'd just do it halfway and never really complete the entry.

Anywaaay so yeah, Meteoras had their first birthday celebration together. We were planning to do it last year since we're celebrating our 21st and Haz's 20th but due to everyone being busy with the semester and all we had no choice but to do it during our semester break which would not come until January this year.

The way we decide who decides the theme and plan the birthday celebration altogether each year is by the month that we were born in. And so the person born the earliest among us, Najibah, got to decide our birthday theme celebration this year.

Originally Jibs wanted a Greek theme. Like an authentic one. But due to lack of time and resources, the theme had turned into a white garden theme. Not anywhere near what we first had in mind but oh well, you gotta work with what you have and make the best of it.

Personally I had trouble with the theme too as the only white thing I own is this white dress that I've been recycling everytime I need to wear white. It's the only thing I have in white and I rarely ever put it on due to my lack of preference for bright colours.

BUT it was Jibah's year and it was either that white dress or a white bed sheet-which I don't own either thanks to my love for darker colours again. -,-

The day before the BIG DAY, we all decided to gather and prepare everything so that the next day we won't need to rush to get things done. The last time we gathered as six was Eid last year at my house and so it's been a while since we hung out and I got excited at the prospect that we're spending more than a few hours together. The biggest shocker that evening though was Najibah when she told us that she was going to sleep over at Bat's with us too.

NEVER.

NEVER in our five years of friendship has Jibah joined any of our sleepovers. Her parents never let her and we have long since accepted the fact that she may never join us for any sleepovers. So the fact that she was joining us for this one, DURING OUR FIRST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION TOGETHER nonetheless, it was very much a big deal for all of us.

We gathered at Times Square since it was the most convenient place for everyone to go to, and some of us still needed to find attires of white. We spent the day finding clothes and buying ingredients to cook for tomorrow's menu before heading back to Bat's house and get everything ready for tomorrow.

Since it was gonna be some sort of picnic in the garden kinda thing, we thought we'd prepare some food for the picnic. At first it was just the birthday cake that Bat has made for all six of us and egg sandwiches, But then we didn't think it would be enough so I decided to make Hong Kong Pie and Jibs made baked pasta.

We had to wake up early the next morning to fry the pie and bake the pasta but that didn't stop us from talking till wee hours of the morning. Slept at 4.30, had to wake up at 6.30. Ala sleepover biasa la kan. You never really get any sleep during sleepovers anyway.

We went to Taman Saujana Hijau(atleast that's what I think it's called) for the picnic and as much as I hate nature, I can't help but be amazed at the beauty of the place. Really. It was beautiful. I was told that it was a hot spot for couples to take wedding photos so figures.

It is a great place to take beautiful photos and the surrounding matched our white garden theme perfectly. I don't know how Najibah picked the right place for our theme but she succeeded and the pictures couldn't have come out more beautiful. We really looked like angels in heaven gitewww. HAHAHAHAHHAHA ok that is an exaggerated compliment but I can't help it. The place and the white theme really made us look surreally ethereal.

I want to upload the photos so bad but half of it are in my phone and those are some of the prettiest ones, so I think I'll just upload them in my next entry.

One Hundred Foot Journey : Movie Review

ok truthfully the original reason I decided to watch this movie is because my friend told me the guy in the movie has the most amazing eyes and Juhi Chawla. HUGE FAN of Juhi Chawla I am. Though she only appeared like 10 minutes in the movie.

One Hundred Foot Journey is about an Indian family who moved to Europe to start over their life when their house and their restaurant in India was burnt to the ground together with the protagonist's mother, Mama who is played by Juhi Chawla. haih.

Anyway, the main character, Hassan and his family moved to London in the hopes of a better life but their new residence there proved to be ill-suited for a restaurant and so they departed to mainland Europe.

I don't wanna go into too much story details, I mean obviously you have to watch the movie yourself to know the story. But basically the movie is about an indian family that moved to France due to certain circumstances and try to open up an indian restaurant there. But of course not everything is smooth sailing and they are met with challenges every single day, especially from the restaurant opposite theirs. The story centers around Hassan, the chef in the family. With his natural talent for cooking, it tells his journey in becoming one of the most wanted chef in France. while staying true to his roots and family.

Overall, I thought the movie was okay. Nothing too mind blowing or heart wrenching as I had expected. It wasn't as spectacular as my friend had made it to be, but I suggest you seek a second opinion on this matter as what intrigue me as "spectacular" or "mind blowing" is quite different than others.

One thing though, I like how the story evolved, how it showed that if you work hard enough and you believe in what you do, you can defy any odds. The father is beyond hilarious, watch it if only for the humourous father lol.

The cinematography here though is one that I should give huge compliments to. The one thing that stopped me from watching the movie halfway is the cinematography and how everything is filmed. The scenes, the surroundings, everything was so breathtaking like literally it took my breath away and I would watch it again just so I can imagine myself being there.

All in all, if you ask me, watch the movie for your own insights on it. I guess the movie is good because it can be interpreted in different ways depending on the audience. I might not see much depth in the movie but I know some of my friends who have alternative opinions.

I'd give it a 4.5 out 10

The Bubble Broke

If I must describe how the past six days have been in one word it would be.
Peaceful.

And Merlin knows how long since I've felt that way.

So I joined this English camp at UM as a facilitator, together with Hakim, Najibah, Shira, Farid, Irfan, and later, Farah Aiman. The program was under Hakim's college, KK2, and YATIM, an organization for orphan kids.

The camp was one of the most relaxed camps I've ever participated in. There was no rush to get ready in the morning, no rush in trying to get all the activities completed. No rush in trying to get all done on time.

It was as if we had all the time in world however cliche that may sound.

The camp was good as any camp should be. What struck me was the people I was working with.

Yes I knew Jibs, Shira and Hakim well enough to not feel any different while working them. But it's been a while since I've spent that much time with jibs and shira and I haven't seen Hakim for more than a year which is enough time for things to have changed between us. I've only heard about Farid and Irfan through the mutual friends we have so I questioned myself whether we could click or not.

Of course, as days went by, it only seemed to prove that I overthink everything and that I worry too much over every little detail. We worked well together and we had no problem trying to get any suggestions or ideas across.

But I knew it was much more than that. I didn't know what it is at first but I knew I felt different. Or more accurately, I felt different around them. Like I was my old self again. The self that I've missed and searched for so long. And most importantly I felt peaceful.

And it made me wonder about a lot of things.

Specifically the people I've been surrounding myself with.

Lost word count.

I get loss for words as easily as it is to hoard them when things get too much. And I guess that is partly the reason I stopped blogging for a couple of months.  Things get too much and I've left so many things unsaid that I wouldn't know where to even begin if I were to write a new entry.

They say if you fail once it does not mean you'll fail forever.

I failed to keep my resolution last year and I keep wondering if I should try again this year. Would the end result in similar patterns or would I surprise myself in actually achieving my goal? You never try know till you try is often said too.

But personally in my part, I guess I got way ahead of myself and just gave up when I reached the one week mark of not blogging. I wouldn't say I've given up on my resolution but I intent on making blogging a regular habit first before I jump into my resolution again.

With that being said, I can't say I don't regret my actions. My procrastination to be exact, that leads to the halt in the first place.

Because in all honesty, there IS much to be said. To be written down. Because I'd like to remember the pain I've gone through. The betrayals I've dealt with. And the disappointments that I myself made.

I hate this. I hate it that I've not written anything I wanted down and when I do write a new entry, it just generalizes things. It doesn't even explain any of the things I wanted to write. Instead it becomes a repeated cycle of me writing about how I'm disappointed with myself and I'm not able to write because there's just too much going on my life, ending it with a laughable promise that I will start to write as often as I can again.

Always, Always the same excuse.

And yet I detest those who do the same.

how are

you?

For real though, how are you peeps out there. Though ever since I change my blog address I haven't gotten many readers. Ahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahhahahahhahahhahahahha like I used to have lots ahahahhahahahhahahahhahahhahahahhahahhahahhaha

I'm 22 but who says I can't dream anymore keujo?

Indeed. Months of abandoning my blog has made me sound like my sixteen year old self again. Then again, what if I'm actually still sixteen at heart. Age is just numbers after all.

Yet the thought of me still being sixteen at heart terrifies me. Because it means I haven't grown. That I have not learned my lessons. That I am still stuck under the illusion that things will be alright for years to come.

That I am young.

And though being or feeling young has its perks, I don't want to live in blissful ignorance my whole life. It just doesn't feel right and I don't want that for myself anyway. not anymore.

But as days passed I find myself hanging on to a thread that leads to nowhere but.

It stresses me out that I keep thinking on how to push myself forward. How to better myself.

At the very least, have a direction in life again.

An empty casket.

That's what I'm comprised of.

A casket. With nothing but dust and spider webs filling the hollowed spaces. I wish I could clean it spotless. Filling it with things that could assist me in the future. That could make me beautiful. Insightful. That could make me extraordinary.

That could make me human.

I keep thinking how I haven't contributed anything to mankind and the world yet I have been shamelessly demanding so much things from them. With a fixed stand that I deserve everything I have let my voice to demand.

It's ridiculous. How hatred takes over me yet the only obstacle in front of me is myself. How I destruct myself yet I blamed other people for chances that they weren't afraid to take. It doesn't make sense that I can't control my own mind and feelings. It just doesn't

make

any

sense.

Between All The Thorns.

So.

I wasn't able to keep the resolution that I made. Another disappointment to add to my list of other life failures,

And apparently everyone is just eager to tell me that I have failed in keeping my resolution. which sucks.

Life is supposed to have ups and downs but somehow it seems that I myself am dead set on making my life as miserable as it can be.

I try not to slack off too much. Nor waste my time too much on insignificant things. And as much as I hate to admit it,  kpop is included in said category too. Well it is when you spend more than half the day on nothing but beautiful faces and you're 21 and have no single clue of what you're going to do with your imminent future.

Adding to that, since the beginning of the year, I've been feeling like i'm in a state of in between. neither this or that. neither here or there. and it pains me too much sometimes to think that i'm floating on uncertain waves.

where do i go.

where CAN i go?

And with all that's happened between my blood sisters during my semester break and the things that keeps happening to me after that.

I mean it doesn't affect me anymore. Atleast that's what I told myself. But it seems as though my mind and heart have a different answer. To not be able to control your own mind is the last thing I want right now.

maybe i should get a pen pal.

Hard Love

Hello.

The last time I posted anything was less than 2 months ago.

The last time I tried to stick to my resolution was less than 2 months ago.

The last time I thought we would stick through regardless of what is was 1 month ago.

The last time I thought we would ever hit this low was a year ago.

The last time I thought of the possibility that it would be this bad was never.

And here it is.

Hitting me right in the face.

How strong my bad luck charm is.

It's the effort that matters?

I tried my hardest to keep the resolution I made at the beginning of the year. Believe me. I tried. So very hard.

Due to forces of certain circumstances though, I wasn't able to keep my resolution. I am trying though. Although I might not blog on the day itself I'd try my best to make sure that each day has an entry. Even if I have to blog about it a day or two after said day.

I mean it's the effort that matters right?

So I'm still keeping my resolution right?

RIGHT?
